Once again, some more treasures from Rummage Sale

I found some very interesting and unique postcards from a big pile in a wire basket. They were donated by the same person I believe. The sales woman let slip that a volunteer had already picked out several of them for his collection before the sale started. Oh well.

Vintage Happy New Year card from 1907. It is bronze and gold with mica glitter! Swoon!

It's in very good shape considering its age.

A few vintage souvenir postcards from London and Italy circa 1960s and 1970s.

The Italy postcard is stamped 1960. Canadian postage was 4 cents.

The writer is a female named Anne. "Please tell Bert next time he is down he must have dinner with us, no excuses...Am just working spasmodically now."...(I believe she mean "sporadically"...it's funny though to imagine her body jerking around in spasms at work)....."Sold wheelbarrows at Eatons yesterday (illegible) and a little Avon today. " Although she is working sporadically selling wheelbarrows, she "went riding last Sunday", "Tennis starts next week" and she is "Just off to the dressmaker", so things aren't that bad....

The London postcard is post office stamped 1963 and is addressed to "Ronald" from "Mother".

"The flight over was ok. I wasn't sick although there was a lot of turbulence. At first we could see nothing but blackness...and the clouds below looked like the snowfields of the Antarctic. It was gray and cold and wet here....-58 degrees (eek)

A vintage Dutch postcard with an adorable girl riding a wagon pulled by a big doggie.
She sure has a biiig basket of tulips behind her.

The basket flips upward to reveal a tiny strip of black and white souvenir photographs of the Netherlands.

Last but not least, a vintage early 20th century black and white postcard of American actress Evelyn Nesbitt posing for the photograph entitled "Little Butterfly". I did a quick Internet search on this... Can you believe she was only 16 in the photo! It's so beautifully done.
